Exocet is defined as a guided anti-ship missile developed by the French government — this is not a missile but a tool specifically for hollowing out vessels. This innovative and original tool is made by Link Technology International Limited in Wellington New Zealand.
The Exocet System was originally designed for situations where conventional turning gouges are difficult, if not impossible, to use. There are a number of scrapers on the market designed for hollowing in end and side grain but the Exocet© is a cutting tool which does the job superbly.
The standard Exocet© tool is made up of a high tensile steel tool bar, a double ended dolphin nose cutter, an adjustable cutter guide, a steel tube ergonomically designed handle with rubber grip and a nylon sleeve. All Exocet© tools are made to very exacting engineering standards. For example the simple twist lock to hold the tool bar firmly has to be made to very tight tolerances to work as effectively as it does. The tools are so good that they come with a five year guarantee.
Exocet Standard Model retails at £169.95 including VAT and is available from Craft Supplies and Millers Dale — visit http://www.craft-supplies.co.uk/ and search for exocet or call them on 01433 622 550.
